As a recently adoptive father to a 12 year old who has been 4 homes, 3 other group homes and subjected to physical abuse I can confirm that the almost total lack of resources available for children and mothers is the real story.

Our son is a wonderful child. However, he still suffers from inappropriate emotional responses and anger to a given scenario or event. Without a stable loving home, meds and therapy who knows where he would have ended up. The end of a life before it was even able to start.
