for fuck's sake, @TwitterSupport, I have muted every single iteration of this fucking trial (you know the one) bc it's so triggering yet somehow I can't get rid of the leading headline at the top of my "what's happening" and new hashtags appear every hour. Let people turn it off.

Crips unapologetically and urgently buying one another access aids that we once knew what it was like to live without is love. Remembering trying to survive without shower stools, canes, wheelchairs, safe food, bp/o2 monitors, etc, and refusing to let our kin go without is love.

So many folks in our community give without thought. Passing our last $20 from one to the other over and over, as the crip adage goes. This community has done that for me time and again. It's reshaped my life goals to simply get to a place where I can do the same unabashedly.

If you want to help, I honestly could use dinner tonight. All my things are on my website under support. It’s never ever ever expected but always appreciated, especially since I don’t really get paid for so much advocacy labour (which is fine). I’m just so tired of doing it alone

For transparency: y’all have covered my meals through the weekend. I’ve started taking some of the excess and giving it to fellow crips in need and the un/underhoused disabled elders who hang out near my apartment. Any overage will pay for a BP monitor & shower stool for me.

I may have also bought myself some Dairy Queen. So, you know. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Nearly five hours walking around Vancouver trying to manage medical care. 🧵 Finally ended up at a walk in clinic and found a doctor who won’t take me as a patient but will help me with prescriptions until I can get a GP. He also promised not to rush me out if it takes time. /1

He told me the problem in BC is (surprise) private communications companies like T*lus and R*gers driving clinics out of business with for-profit telehealth that’s rolled into the companies’ service charges. The province refuses to offer competitive wages and support to Drs. /2

I’m grateful he was sympathetic. But I need someone dedicated to my care. I’m going to see him, even tho his clinic is a ways from me and he can’t offer the consistent review and upkeep my conditions need. No referrals, reviews of blood work or new treatments. Just maintenance./3

I didn’t get any of the major work things I needed to do today done. I’m in a huge amount of pain from being jostled and knocked into several times and know I just spent significant time on trains with unmasked & unvaccinated people. /4

Again: don’t tell me suicidal disabled ppl don’t want to survive. Someone who had given up, who didn’t believe they deserved & could have a beautiful life wouldn’t do what I’m doing. Disabled ppl don’t all want to die. We want care, no matter what eugenicist lobbyists say. /fin

Thinking about @cripchick & how every time a disabled elder & oracle dies from violence in our community, it's like setting fire to an entire museum, the entire archive in what's lost. #StaceyTaughtUs so much about how to love, nurture, and claim one another in beloved community.

Stacey Park Milbern mattered not just bc of what she gave us. She mattered bc she simply was. My life, our lives, the lives of crip community are forever changed because of her, though. She gave us so much to live into, allowed us to clamber onto her lifeboat and be transformed.

Love downloading medical records to see a diagnosis of "head trauma" in there from 6 years ago I didn't know about with no other clinical follow up.

Also finding out I may have chronic strep in my urine?? WHAT. Why the fuck do doctors not tell you ANYTHING?

I would really like to take my mom on a vacation one day but she and I are both disabled/Mad and most comfortable in our nests (homes). Do y’all have any suggestions for the kinds of vacations that would feel special but not “too much”? Especially fellow Mad/ND folks 💕

Just because I don’t want anyone to worry: -I ate (thank you everyone); -took my dinner meds; -cried more; -drank a lot of juice. Couldn’t start the dishes, fold my laundry, or finish my work for the day, but I’m here. I’ll try again tomorrow. Maybe the new nephrologist can help

This is perhaps the greatest Freudian slip of all time.
George W. Bush: "The decision of one man to launch a wholly unjustified and brutal invasion of Iraq — I mean of Ukraine."

(okay but when one of the most respected historians/archaeologists in the province roasts you this hard for funding a museum, you know you’ve fucked up. 💕✨)
Replying to @jjhorgan
maybe a museum would help
