I was a member of AFSCME as a young mother. The union looked out for us, and was the reason we had good benefits and fair wages. I stand with AFSCME Locals 34 and 2822 who are organizing for the same things right now.
As a former union county and state employee, I am thankful to the constituents, neighbors and union members who share with me their hopes for contracts that feel meaningful and dignified. I am not at the negotiation table but am compelled to say that I hear you.

Organize a union at Home Depot. The workers there need it. They prey on the unskilled young and the desperate Old.

I'm the most educated person in my family and the least paid because I'm a social worker and we have no union. My sister the flight attendant made twice as much money as me, because unions.

Food for thought. As a travel nurse I've noticed only union hospitals pay well. Not all states have unions. Guess which ones do and which ones don't.
