I was a member of AFSCME as a young mother. The union looked out for us, and was the reason we had good benefits and fair wages.
I stand with AFSCME Locals 34 and 2822 who are organizing for the same things right now.
As a former union county and state employee, I am thankful to the constituents, neighbors and union members who share with me their hopes for contracts that feel meaningful and dignified. I am not at the negotiation table but am compelled to say that I hear you.
