Appears to be another violation of the terms of the acquisition. He’s really really desperate to get out of this isn’t he?
Jack off the board!

I know Musk stans come out of the woodwork to claim he’s a genius and going to save free speech, but if he wanted to buy Twitter all he has to do is limit himself to talking about his Elden Ring sits for a couple weeks, but instead he keeps blasting this stuff

Sussmann isn’t testifying in his trial. Hacks (usual talking head suspects) are already writing this off as “he knows the jury is on his side” as opposed to “because Durham flopped on making a case and was just hoping to mount a fishing expedition on cross.”

Eric Adams has proven to be exactly the disaster everyone predicted.
The mayor who has insisted that crime is at a historic high when it is not is now having to grapple with people being afraid of going to work.

The conservative argument against gun control reminds me of heliocentrism denial. “Venus only makes sense in the night sky if we rotate the sun.” “No…no…it’s a, uh, a magic ‘wandering star!’” Literally ANYTHING but the obvious is to blame.

And yes that should be revolve. Sorry.

One of the few decent arguments against assault weapon bans is that, since it’s not fully automatic, it’s not really different than any other rifle. EXCEPT here we have armed, trained law enforcement seeing an assault rifle and deciding they weren’t equipped to deal with it

Even if they were wrong, if it conveys that psychologically, it’s a unique danger.

NEW: Supreme Court lets Biden administration keep using its formulas for estimating social cost of greenhouse gas emissions when regulating energy and infrastructure projects. No explanation or noted dissent as court rejects Louisiana and other GOP-controlled states.

Every shooting, the same terrible arguments come out (it’s about mental health, more cops, arm the teachers) but one more always gets added like the 12 days of Christmas song — this time it’s apparently “single entry”
Places we frequent with only one door/limited sites of access: 1. Banks 2. Airports 3. Hospitals/Medical Centers/abortion clinics 4. Congress 5. SCOTUS 6. White House 7. MANY JOURNALISM OUTLETS But schools? BRIDGE TOO FAR.

Why won’t Democrats play our stupid game?
Democrats are already rejecting calls for more security and single entry points for schools (refusing to concede single points of entry with multiple exits is possible). They only want gun control, which won't pass the Senate. That means they want the issue, not a solution.

This piece is from 2018 but it’s worth re-reading before the inevitable wave of “arm the teachers” nonsense is everywhere.

What’s so weird is how successfully we’ve memoryholed that NO ONE seriously thought the 2A afforded an individual right to guns until recently. Warren Burger called it a fraud. Heller was the FIRST case to ever say this…in 2008! But people act like it’s always been there.
Other countries have disaffected teens. But other countries don't have the GOP interpretation of the 2nd Amendment, and a high court willing to enforce it against the will of the people. And that is why our children are murdered. My latest in @thenation thenation.com/article/societ…

And it did say people could have guns, but the “well regulated” was understood to restrain it (in contrast to, say, the 1A that has no qualifiers). Which is why you had Wild West towns that made you check your guns at the border…everyone knew regs trumped the right

Just checking in... we've already had the insultingly disingenuous "this is a mental health issue" from people who slash mental health spending & red flag laws, right? Have we gotten to "more police in schools" or skipped all the way to asking pre-school teachers to carry rifles?

The Dobbs leak controversy is stupid, but Bruen would be even more ludicrous. At least Dobbs was a Feb. draft still in the deliberative process. Bruen, at this point, would just be releasing a fully formed opinion before the Court sat on it for weeks for its own PR reasons.
Supreme Court Is About To Erase More Gun Laws — Now Would Be A Good Time To Leak That Draft Opinion bit.ly/3wK7qhj

Though it's been fun to cross-reference people complaining about this with people who've written past praise for Assange publishing actually classified stuff because those embarrassed Hillary or something, but suggesting SCOTUS not play games with its public opinions is SCARY!
