Every time police arrest a white mass shooter alive & w/o shooting is an another powerful reason to reject the police “they-were-armed” justification and narrative after killing a Black person.

We desperately need to make COVID protections and treatments accessible to more people, but they are going to ration vaccines and spend the funding on cops instead.

It’s remarkable how quickly the Senate has acted to protect the privacy and safety of five Justices. It’s something Senators are unwilling to do for millions of women.

In order for capitalism to work, you need a permanent underclass of who people work shitty jobs for no or little pay and live shorter, shitty lives, and you need them to pop out babies—babies you've forced them to create and birth—trapped in the same circumstance. Like slavery.

📢📢📢 Want to know why prices are so high? The @Groundwork team is on it & today I published some of our findings in this @nytopinion piece. Be warned--it's not pretty. But to stop companies from price gouging during crises--we must listen & learn. 🧵1/15 nytimes.com/2022/05/05/opini…

Interesting to see scattered opinions of "can we focus on human death?" on the millions of bees that died the other day. humans reluctant as ever to accept we are mere parts of an ecosystem that won't weep when we remove ourselves from it

There's a particular slap to the face of being told we can vote for abortion rights, by the court that gutted voting rights.

One of the great scandals of our time is that in an era of rising fascism, global ecological collapse, a pandemic etc. the Democratic party establishment chose to dramatically increase investment in state surveillance, repression, and the militarization of police.

Alito’s draft heavily references English legal precedent, including that of famed jurist Sir Matthew Hale who, it should be noted, had at least two women executed for witchcraft and wrote a treatise supporting marital rape

As I log off, I will remind you all that the order of operations for conservative SCOTUS was important. They had to take away voting rights by eviscerating the Voting Rights Act BEFORE they could take away abortion. They're counting on voter suppression to blunt the backlash.

As we’ve warned, SCOTUS isn’t just coming for abortion - they’re coming for the right to privacy Roe rests on, which includes gay marriage + civil rights. Manchin is blocking Congress codifying Roe. House has seemingly forgotten about Clarence Thomas. These 2 points must change

Alito's draft opinion explicitly criticizes Lawrence v. Texas (legalizing sodomy) and Obergefell v. Hodges (legalizing same-sex marriage). He says that, like abortion, these decisions protect phony rights that are not "deeply rooted in history." politico.com/f/?id=00000180-…

Meet Frieda Belinfante, a Jewish lesbian who was part of the Dutch resistance in World War II. 🧵 Her role in the resistance was to forge documents for Jews. She also organized the bombing of a population registry office so the forges couldn’t be compared to the originals.
