Let's get one thing straight: The Ontario government's decision to shorten the COVID-19 isolation period to 5 days without also providing workers with free N95 masks, rapid tests & adequate paid sick days is a business decision, not a public health decision.

Interesting how quick they are to jump on terrible US CDC "guidance", but not the occasional good guidance.

Exactly my thought! They are just parroting what the CDC said rather than doing their own scientific research! If they were to parrot anyone I wish they parroted what the UK is doing where one can leave isolation as soon as they test negative

at "5 days" into isolation period, my daughter's nose was running like a faucet and was very much symptomatic. The idea that we can pretend guidelines can dictate the science (instead of the other way around) is beyond absurd.

Which is why it says 5 days if you symptoms have gone away for at least 24 hours. Read instead of react.
