This is an excellent piece from Owen about homophobia and how its root in a specific definition/display of masculinity also sweeps up straight men in its attacks.
Fighting it in all forms benefits gay and straight men both being able to expand beyond those tired expectations.
Talking about homophobia against straight men isn't a tasteless distraction.

In my 11 years in the UK media I've *never* compromised anonymity.
On the narrow question (within the wider trans rights debate) of whether it is legitimate to question and doubt an entirely one-sided story (allegedly derived from a partisan source) appearing in a right-wing tabloid, @owenjones84 should not be criticised

A trans woman posted about working with her doctor and a lactation consultant to breastfeed her and her partner's baby by following the widely used and respected Newman-Goldfarb protocol to induce lactation. TERF's proceed to lose their minds and fail basic biology.

If The Times - which has a history of issuing corrections after publishing inflammatory and inaccurate stories - wants to publish stories sourced from anti-trans websites, that's their prerogative.
But it's reasonable to investigate those stories without being threatened.
