Rest In Peace John Morphet. A beautiful soul died last week. He was depressed and sick and the place he turned to for help did not treat him as it was an out of network hospital for his insurance. He committed suicide 2 days later. #SinglePayer might have saved him

Consider that out of pocket costs for an average family to participate in the insurance market has also gone up over the past 10 years. 46% to be exact. #SinglePayer solves this. The pandemic-proof health care giant axios.com/2022/01/20/unitedh…

That’s like 1600 planes going down over an 18 month period of time. Any politician who muddled the message or blatantly went against the CDC guidelines should be voted out.
A large share of the nearly 1 million people who died of COVID in the U.S. may have lived if they'd gotten vaccinated, a new analysis shows. n.pr/3Nfgn7P

Estimates show that nearly 27 million Americans and their families lost their health care coverage when they lost their jobs due to COVID-19. Let me be clear: health care is a human right, not a job benefit. Yes. It’s time for Medicare for All.

The #MedicareForAll bills in the house and senate offer access and protection of reproductive health for everyone at the Federal level. Yet another thing #SinglePayer solves.
We urge the Senate to immediately pass the #WHPA, which will protect the patient-physician relationship & reproductive health care. Patients & physicians must be the ones to make critical decisions about their reproductive health—not government. ow.ly/PYfK50J1G98

7:30 PM and still not done charting and dealing with EMR in-basket full of prior Authorizations, formulary changes and advantage plan mail order requests… now this! @cvspharmacy CVS Caremark approves the 100–50 and the 500–50 Advair Diskus but not the 250–50. This is madness 😡

Call it “Mexicare”: Fed up with high medical bills from insurers, a family crosses the border The Fierro family owed a Yuma, Arizona, hospital more than $7,000 for care given to mom and dad, so when a son dislocated his shoulder, they headed to Mexicali.   apple.news/AmmdgB9q4QsquOgDt…

73 cents of every dollar of the $3.6 trillion national tab for health care went to people who have nothing to do with actually manufacturing or producing preventive, medical, surgical or palliative outcomes with patients. Let that sink in. @SecBecerra @XavierBecerra @ASlavitt

Payment models can only be useful if the underlying finance model is universal AND they reward care for the medically and socially complex. Current “quality metrics” likely indicate socioeconomic status of pt more than the skill set of a physician. #SinglePayer solves this.

More lives covered a good thing, but we still have tax $$ going to investor owned for-profit insurance. Those who don't qualify for subsidies or Medicaid, pay the price without any direct benefit. #SinglePayer is fair, cost effective and covers everyone. commonwealthfund.org/blog/20…

Thank you @PNHP for highlighting the facts. The needs and voice of the public are clear. For profit insurance and inflated drug prices are hampering access, quality of life, and longevity. #SinglePayer solves this. rwjf.org/en/library/research…
