A wonderful group of people are returning to #Ukraine️ and raising funds for medical supplies and more👇🏽
A small group of us are heading back to #Ukraine️ with medical supplies.
We also hope to raise funds to buy cookers, washing machines, hygiene & sports supplies for 2 schools where families are sheltering in Yavoriv.
Any help would be v appreciated 💜

An entire generation grew up watching this woman on TV.

Today we've heard how in the aftermath of Grenfell, the British state was unable to offer the most basic information to families searching for lost children, but did manage to send armed police to patrol the rest centre where the community were sheltering.

This 👇🏽 I’ve been increasingly asked to help find missing people who have vanished without a trace taking impossibly dangerous routes, fleeing impossibly dangerous situations. European border regimes and asylum policy kill.
The impact of pushbacks is nuanced and far reaching, forcing people not necessarily into not coming but instead taking far deadlier routes.

People steering a boat to safety as they flee war persecution and injustice are imprisoned, but the people securitising the borders, preventing people from finding safety and returning them to the sea are ‘protecting borders’. This system is broken, it is unjust & it is violent.
Even though the court acknowledged that they are not smugglers that acted for profit, dropped the charges of "being part of a criminal organization" and did not impose life sentences, the three fathers were still convicted for "facilitating unauthorized entry". /1

Utterly deplorable. Just spoke to an Afghan asylum seeker who has been taken from the hostel and detained at the immigration removal centre. He's been informed he might be shipped to #Rwanda even though he sought asylum last year and the new policy does not apply to his claim.
