A small group of us are heading back to #Ukraine️ with medical supplies.
We also hope to raise funds to buy cookers, washing machines, hygiene & sports supplies for 2 schools where families are sheltering in Yavoriv.
Any help would be v appreciated 💜

Tens of occupation soldiers with bulldozers now invading our villages in Masafer Yatta. They’ve already destroyed one home, as a broken family watched. I’m trying to follow them. They’re ethnically cleansing us here, shortly after killing a journalist - and the world is silent.
Israeli forces respond to #ShireenAbuAkleh’s killing by raiding her family home in occupied East Jerusalem, confiscating Palestinian flags and preventing the playing of nationalistic songs.
If a journalist is shot & killed in front of multiple journalists who all say there were no armed Palestinians present, just Israeli forces who fired at them, than that is enough. Enough for journalists & headline writers to not mention “clashes”. Rest in Power Shireen Abu Akleh.
This morning @ShireenNasri, veteran Al Jazeera journalist, was shot and killed by Israeli regime forces whilst she was covering their raid on Jenin.
An entire generation grew up watching this woman on TV.
Rest in power Shireen.
Today we've heard how in the aftermath of Grenfell, the British state was unable to offer the most basic information to families searching for lost children, but did manage to send armed police to patrol the rest centre where the community were sheltering.
In today’s Queen’s speech, the UK Government announced its intention to replace the Human Rights Act.
This is the latest in a string of government policies which are turning Britain into a less tolerant and less free society.
#Frontex border agency has huge question marks around its accountability mechanisms + serious allegations of HR violations - and yet @YlvaJohansson expects countries to keep increasing contributions.
I hope Switzerland can lead the way to saying NO. @NoFrontex
🇪🇺Commissioner @YlvaJohansson warns🇨🇭of voting against increased #Frontex contribution in upcoming referendum: “The consequence could be the end of the Schengen and Dublin accords for Switzerland.”

Queens Speech just announced the anti-BDS Bill
"Legislation will prevent public bodies engaging in boycotts"
We must stand for Palestinian human rights and protect our #RightToBoycottrighttoboycott.org.uk/
Now that I’ve been out and free, it’s more and more clear that the Australian detention system is built on lies, rumours, fear and secrets to treat innocent people with cruelty.
I became a human rights lawyer because I saw injustice & abuses of power & witnessed how the Human Rights Act was often the only way to hold the state to account. Today the Government will announce their plan to scrap it. More power for them, fewer rights for us...🧵
This 👇🏽 I’ve been increasingly asked to help find missing people who have vanished without a trace taking impossibly dangerous routes, fleeing impossibly dangerous situations. European border regimes and asylum policy kill.
Migration is not a crime. Migration is not an issue. Migration is a response to the crimes and issues, usually ones initiated and/or perpetuated by the West through colonial and imperial systems.
A year ago I was arrested in Chios, had my electronics seized, and am now a part of a “criminal investigation” designed to intimidate humanitarian workers and conceal human rights abuses at the hands of local authorities and Frontex.
People steering a boat to safety as they flee war persecution and injustice are imprisoned, but the people securitising the borders, preventing people from finding safety and returning them to the sea are ‘protecting borders’. This system is broken, it is unjust & it is violent.
Even though the court acknowledged that they are not smugglers that acted for profit, dropped the charges of "being part of a criminal organization" and did not impose life sentences, the three fathers were still convicted for "facilitating unauthorized entry". /1

Really awesome exhibition at @FourCornersE2 on protest photography through feminist lens! Humbling when you see how tech has advanced so much but so many of the issues have remained the same

Yesterday we took a kicking. Anyone who believes in rights took a kicking as one by one the Elections Bill, Borders Bill and Policing Bill stripped yet more of them away, but you get up. That's all we can do. The Human Rights Act is on the block next. We get up. We fight back.
Utterly deplorable. Just spoke to an Afghan asylum seeker who has been taken from the hostel and detained at the immigration removal centre. He's been informed he might be shipped to #Rwanda even though he sought asylum last year and the new policy does not apply to his claim.
