After a year fighting the #AntiRefugeeBill, it was an absolute joy to be able to write about something positive. We will #LiftTheBan!
🚨 This is a positive update on a refugee protection campaign. ... Yes, you read that right. After a year of battling the brutality of the #NationalityAndBordersBill there's little to smile about. But the #LiftTheBan campaign gives us some reasons to be cheerful 🧵

🪧 We are not going to stop speaking out in opposition to the #antirefugeebill, and you shouldn't either. The bill will forcibly remove people seeking asylum to Rwanda. 👇

Last night the #AntiRefugeeBill was passed in Parliament. A disaster and a disgrace. But today we #StandUpForAsylum. Today we pledge to fight the #AntiRefugeeLaws. Join us ✊ act.refugee-action.org.uk/pa…
The #AntiRefugeeBill is about to become the #AntiRefugeeLaws. We’re watching people flee conflict and persecution right now. From Ukraine to Afghanistan and beyond, everyone should have the right to seek safety. These new laws deny people that right when they need it most.

The #AntiRefugeeBill Nationality & Borders Bill will increase the burden of proof, making what is already difficult even harder - & the govt itself admits that LGBT+ people removed to Rwanda will be in danger. Stand in solidarity 🏳️‍🌈 Fight the bill👇 refugee-action.org.uk/campai… 2/2

“People only flee when they really have to.” Marzieh sought asylum after fleeing Iran and has worked as an NHS nurse in the pandemic. We can continue to save lives and enrich the UK through refugee protection, but the #AntiRefugeeBill stands in the way. inews.co.uk/inews-lifestyle/…

First #Glasgow #Edinburgh and now #Dalston, Priti Patel’s #antirefugeebill leads to more protests and civil disobedience across the UK against dehumanising immigration raids on peaceful members of multi ethnic communities just trying to build a life. #Protest #NoJusticeNoPeace
As far as I am aware, it looks like there's been another heavy handed Priti Pratel approved immigration raid, which just lead to a small riot in #Dalston. What does this government expect would happen, bringing loutish police to our harmonious multi ethnic community?

Based on their openly announced intentions toward refugees, it can only be a matter of time before a Uyghur is among those the British state tries to deport to Rwanda. Will the MPs who like to talk tough on China, but who voted for the #AntiRefugeeBill, recant? Or stay silent?
